I was perusing an old Life Magazine, when I came across something rather frustrating. I really hope this poor woman never left New York City.
Sirs:
As a bachelor girl bordering on spinsterhood, I was resigned to a marriageless existence here in New York City- but with the appearance of your article I have been tossed into a tizzy. Married friends call urging me to “make a change,” letters from friends arrive daily enclosing “the map” without comment, and even my family has stooped to sending curt notes reading “herewith bus fare to Casper, Wyo.” I am no longer satisfied with my placid pathway into the sunset years alone. I hold you entirely to blame. What do I do now? Pack my luggage, give up my cozy apartment, my pleasant job and go west?
